Summary:
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Midwest NCC Equipment
Department Plant (shop). Collaborates with Operations to be aware
of equipment and tooling needs for the various existing and
upcoming projects.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of owned and rented
equipment through the various crafts and departments within the
plant.
Schedules the day-to-day activities of mechanics, fabricators,
machinists, etc. in conjunction with the Equipment Manager to
accomplish the tasks required. Records and administers these tasks
using work orders, Microsoft teams, one drive, Point of Rental and
various other tools.
These tasks in addition to maintenance and repair of equipment
include preparing load outs for projects unloading materials coming
back from projects, maintaining an inventory stocking warehouse,
maintaining the yard and building in good order, and keeping
records of these activities.
Repair, build, modify, and set-up construction equipment to prepare
for projects, by leading and working with a team of technicians and
other disciplines.
Communicate with sites to enable timely delivery and scheduling of
equipment and tooling. Make sure that the Plant is aware of
upcoming projects and make provisions so that the proper equipment
and tooling are available when needed. Communicate resource
requirements to Regional Equipment Manager to ensure proper
allocation and preparation.
See that transportation needs for equipment and tooling are
scheduled in a timely efficient manner.

Education & Training:
High School Diploma or GED - Preferred Associates or B.S. in a
technical field (Automotive technologies, Mechanical, Equipment
Design, etc.)
OSHA 10-hour safety course
First Aid/CPR
Equipment Manufacturer sponsored schools and seminars
Experience:
5 years minimum in the Heavy Equipment and/or Geo-Technical
industry with emphasis on hands on experience with a variety of
equipment manufacturers and types.
Leadership experience would be a plus.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of and experience working in the field of heavy equipment
repair and maintenance procedures and systems.
Knowledge of and experience working in the Geo-Technical
construction field.
Ability to read and understand schematics and technical
drawings.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite products as well as equipment
related maintenance and management software like HCSS products,
Point of Rental.
Physical Requirements:
Reaching high and low, stooping, and bending continually.
Lifting/carrying/moving up to 100 pounds continually.
Travel per the company travel policy, often overnight and away from
home
Able to concentrate at a high degree in a busy and noisy
construction environment.
Able to work in all types of weather.
Mental Requirements:
