  • Job Details
  • Prefer 1-2 years Med/Surg Experience
  • Will work every other weekend.
  • May be asked to float to other Med/Surg Units, ICU Units and ED waiting rooms.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio 1:4 or 1:5.
  • Equipment utilized: EPIC, Pyxis.
  • NVU is a 40 bed medical surgical unit specializing in the care of patients with neurological disorders such as Stroke, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and other inflammatory disorders of the brain and spinal cord.
  • We have a large spinal surgery population, which includes care for the post-operative neuro-surgery, ortho-surgery, Laminectomy and Spinal Fusion patients.
  • Our unit also includes six "step-down/telemetry" beds and six bariatric beds allowing us to provide care to a diverse patients population.
  • There is a four bed Neuro Monitoring Unit where we admit seizure patients starting at age 5 in an effort to find the cause of their seizures.

    • BLS (AHA) Required
    • NIHSS Required- Or be willing to commit to completing the certification prior to start
    • Michigan RN license
      • Schedule Information
      • Will work every other weekend.
